A MESSAGE FROM THE STAFF
CASA of Burlington County will soon complete its second year of advocacy for abused and neglected children in our County. Sixty volunteers have been trained, and have provided a needed voice in court for over 70 children who are in out of home placements. We want to offer our thanks and gratitude to our wonderful and dedicated volunteers and to everyone who has been so supportive of our program.
Our CASA volunteers serve Burlington County children who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care due to abuse or neglect. The volunteers advocate in Family Court and in the community for the best interests of these children, helping to assure that they receive needed services, while striving to find them safe, permanent, nurturing and permanent homes as quickly as possible. The volunteers' commitment of time and energy on behalf of these children is cause for celebration throughout our community.
We are currently planning our sixth volunteer training class starting in the Fall.We are accepting applications and will be setting up interviews starting in July. We will be holding Information Sessions for those intereseted in volunteering (see Upcoming Events) starting in July 09. With over 400 children living in out-of-home placements in Burlington County, the need is great and the challenges are large. We have made tremendous strides over the past year, but there is much more to be done. We hope that you will consider joining us for our next class . An application to become a CASA of Burlington County is located on the "How to Volunteer" page.
We are extremely grateful to the many people and organizations that have helped to launch this program. Their generosity in providing speakers for our training, classroom space, in-kind donations, and financial support has helped make this a successful program. If you are able to do so, we would ask that you consider making a gift to CASA of Burlington County. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.
Please take a few moments to browse our website to learn more about CASA of Burlington County and how it makes a positive impact on these vulnerable children's lives. We hope that you will join us in meeting this challenge.
