"IT'S ALL ABOUT CARING AND COMMON SENSE.  NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO,
YOU'RE GIVING THESE KIDS SO MUCH MORE THAN THEY'VE EVER HAD."
CASA Volunteer

Every year, more than 100,000 children are reported abused or neglected in New Jersey.  Despite the state's attempts
to help, more than 10,000 of these children each year become trapped between the court and child welfare systems
and can spend their childhood moving from one temporary shelter to another.

This is where you step in by becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate ("CASA") volunteer.
As a CASA volunteer, you speak up for the best interests of a child in court.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a family court judge to discover the best possible outcome for an abused
or neglected child's future.  It is the goal of the CASA volunteer to see that every one of these children is placed into a
safe, permanent home and to give them hope for a better life.

"I CAN SPEAK POWERFULLY FOR THESE CHILDREN."
CASA Volunteer

You don't have to be a lawyer or a social worker to be a CASA volunteer.  We're simply looking for people with a
sincere desire to help abused children.  As a CASA volunteer, you'll receive training from professionals in the legal and
child welfare fields, and you'll have the complete support of CASA of Burlington County to help you through your case.

CASA volunteers conduct an independent, objective, fact-finding investigation, reviewing records,
researching information, and talking to everyone involved - social workers, attorneys, judges, parents,
teachers, doctors, family members, foster parents, and, of course, the children themselves.

"IT'S ABOUT HELPING A CHILD REPLACE A LIFE OF HURT WITH A LIFE OF HOPE."
CASA Volunteer

Armed with the facts about a child's unique circumstances, CASA volunteers make recommendations to the
Family Court to further the best interests of the child.  Judges rely heavily on CASA reports to make
an informed decision about the child's future.

"YOU START OUT TO CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE AND FIND YOU'VE ALSO CHANGED
YOUR OWN."
CASA Volunteer

Become a CASA volunteer and be rewarded with some of the most powerful and fulfilling experiences you can find.
CASA is the only organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed officers of the court.
Your involvement will make a direct impact on a child's life and perhaps for generations to come.

We welcome volunteers from all cultures, professions, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
